Profile

Research Experience

Major research experiences include epidemiology of chronic diseases such as HIV, Cancer etc in synergy with implementation of ongoing national programmes in India. Within HIV Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) interventions remained the focal research points where effectiveness of different regimen was assessed. Dynamics of HIV epidemic in different domains were also studied. Cancer trend and pattern of care in different cancer were investigated through implementation of Population and Hospital Based Cancer Registries under National Cancer Registry Programme in India with a special emphasis on cancer burden of North Eastern Region. 

Research Interests

Key areas of interest remain Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases including surveillance, risk prediction, implementation research, assessment of effectiveness of interventions etc. Other areas of interest include Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Vector Borne Diseases.
